RESERVATIONS AND TABLE SELECTION AND DECORATION

RESERVATIONS

Reservations are $ 15.00 PER SEAT.  The cost includes dinner and entertainment.

The TABLE RESERVATION FORM and all money must be submitted on or before January 17, 2013 to

Gina Napier, PTA Council Outreach Center.

Most PTA Units have budgeted for this event.  Please invite executive officers as well as general members.  Units may also provide complimentary tickets for the Building Teacher of the Year and one guest.  You may reserve 24 seats per table using the attached Reservation Form.  Please make a copy of the form for additional seats.  Also, please make a note for special seating arrangements for physically challenged guest (s).

Founder’s Day meal tickets will be distributed that evening to the representative listed on the Reservation Form.  Everyone MUST have a meal ticket.

Kenrick’s Catering is providing the dinner for the event.  Top Round of Beef Slices au Jus – Breast of Turkey in Creamy Giblet Gravy – Pasta Con Broccoli in Creamy Garlic White Sauce – Irish Buttered and Parslied New Potatoes, Green Bean Almandine Casserole – Tossed Garden Salad and Italian Dinner Rolls with Butter.  Immediately following the prayer, tables will be dismissed for dinner.  Kenrick’s will provide water and tea.  Each PTA unit and / or school may bring their own  NON – ALCOHOLIC beverages.  Please note that this is a school function and NO ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED ON PREMISES.

TABLE SELECTION AND DECORATION

Table assignment is based on your PTA unit’s percent of enrolled PTA members as of January 01, 2013.  The host school is exempt.  This year’s host school is Hazelwood East High School.

Every school must send a representative to meet the PTA Council in the lobby of the Hazelwood Central Fieldhouse at 4pm for table decoration.  Table decoration must be complete by 5pm.

Every year there is “friendly “ decorating competition between schools.  This year, everyone will be asked to vote for the best decorated table.  The winning school will be announced that evening and will receive a traveling trophy to display until the 2014 event.

Table cloth to fit three tables. ( PTA does not provide table cloths.)

Napkins

Snacks ( i.e., crackers, cheese, fruit, nuts )

NON – ALCOHOLIC beverages

Corsage or boutonniere for Teacher or Support Staff of the year

Horns, whistles to celebrate your Teacher or Support Staff of the year when announced.

All decorations must be under 24 inches tall.

The Harlem Wizards, an entertainment basketball team, boast an event full of basketball talent combined with hilarious comedy. Dr. Grayling Tobias, interim superintendent, has agreed to help referee this event and a courageous group of HSD staff members will take on the Harlem Wizards for a fun-filled afternoon of basketball.

“This basketball game is a family event. It’s for everyone, even if you’re not a sports fan,” said Sarah Day, president, PTA Council. “We’re asking parents to bring their children to the game for hot dogs and fun to support this worthy cause. This is a very important fundraising event for our scholarship program. Last year, we were thrilled to give 100 graduating seniors $500 scholarships, totaling $50,000. Our goal this year is to once again raise enough money to help fund our scholarship program. All proceeds from the event will be divided equally between the scholarship fund and gifted education program.”

Tickets: Students: $6 advance/$8 at door
Adults: $10 advance/$12 at door
Children under 4 are free

Time: Doors open: 1:00 p.m.
Game time: 2:00 p.m.

Hazelwood Central Field House is located at 15875 New Halls Ferry Road, in Florissant.

The winning student will be awarded a Run/Walk T-shirt with their design and signature plus, a trophy, and recognition by the Board of Education and HSD PTA Council. Please note that the design must be an original, completed by the HSD middle school student.

Hazelwood PTA Scholarship

Run/Walk 2013

May 11, 2013,  The first Race starts at 8:15 a.m.  Registration can be done on-line or turned into any Hazelwood School office.  Registration is also accepted the day of the race.

We have races for all ages and ability;  5K, 1 mile, ½ mile (ages 7 & 8), ¼ mile (ages 6 & under), and Baby Stroller Steps.  Also, a Health Fair

The first Run/Walk was held in 1982 to raise funds for the Hazelwood PTA Scholarship Fund.  This year’s goal is to raise $50,000. We take pride advocating for our students while sponsoring events that enable successful scholarship distributions within our District.

In January, the Foundation will announce the number of scholarships and the dollar amount that will be given out to this year’s Hazelwood graduating seniors.

The Scholarships will be presented on May10th at 6:30 p.m. in the Hazelwood Central High School Auditorium.  To date the Scholarship Foundation has distributed 2756 scholarships, totaling $2,821,370.
